Your Nintendo DS can do a lot of things out of the box. It can play DS games, as well as GameBoy Advance (GBA) games. It can download demos from download stations at places like Best Buy, and you can chat with friends in the same room. But, it can also play music, videos, display text files, and much more!

1. Acquire the R4DS (Revolution For DS) flashcart from an online retailer. They are not sold in stores, but they are not illegal as sold. You can find them on Amazon Marketplace and DealExtreme. Google should turn up others.
2. Download the latest firmware for the R4. At the time of this writing, the latest version is 1.18. The R4 may not ship with the latest firmware. See below for the proper link.
3. Connect the Transflash/microSD card to your computer. The R4 comes with a microSD to USB adapter which is very nice. If you have a memory card reader, use the SD adapter that comes with most microSD cards. In a pinch, put the memory card in a compatible phone and connect the phone to the computer.

4. Open the firmware file, should be Language-Version.zip. Unpack the contents of this archive to the root directory of your microSD card.

5. Verify that you have done everything right. That should be all it takes. Remove whatever game may be in your DS' Slot-1, insert the R4, and insert the microSD card into the R4. There is only one way it can go, and it will most likely be the way you don't expect. It does not matter in what order you do this - you could also put the microSD card into the R4 and then put the R4 in the DS. (A clever individual can remove the microSD card from the R4 while the R4 is in the DS, but it's a tight area.)

6. Turn the DS on. You should get the safety warning, but before you get a chance to touch the screen to confirm, the R4 should take over. The default DS menu, if it was enabled (it is by default), will be bypassed, and the R4 menu will load. You will get three choices. The first one, Game, will allow you to load a .NDS file (a DS ROM, or a homebrew application - .NDS is to your DS what .EXE is to your Windows computer). The second one, Media, will allow you to play multimedia - music, video, text - using the Moonshell OS. The third one, Slot-2, will allow you to boot a Slot-2 (Game Boy Advance) game.

7. Get some good homebrew and DS games! The most recommended DS download site is PocketDownloadCenter

Jump from the stairs closest to you when you start to the blue ledge above Kid's Choice Clothing. Keep following the walkway past the stuffed bear all the way to the end to find the submachine gun.

Uzi

In the Food Court, go to the sign with the Italian chef. Climb to its left side, then to the top to find an Uzi.

At the "Select A File" screen, highlight a file, then hold L + R and press A to play as Luigi in Single Player mode.

Secret Challenge mode

Successfully complete the game. Start the cleared game file, then pause the game while at the world map and press L, R, L, R, X(2), Y(2). If you entered the code correctly, the message "Welcome to the Secret Challenge mode" will appear. Similar to the original Super Mario Bros. for the NES, Secret Challenge mode will not let you backtrack in certain levels. To indicate whether a level has a Secret Challenge version, the new right arrow icon will be lit in the top right corner of the map screen.

Secret exit in World 7-4

To locate the secret exit in World 7-4, you will need a mini-Mushroom (in storage, if possible). Make your way past the mid-level point and upwards to the left side of the screen (high up). You will eventually come to a flying "?" block. Use the mini-Mushroom to make Mario smaller and jump onto the block to stop it. Then, use the block to jump into the little opening in the brick wall. Make a "C" jump (backwards C) and jump up and to the left to land at the top of the wall. Go over and you will see a small pipe that only mini-Mario can fit in. Take this pipe to reach the red flag secret exit.

Secret exit in World 7-5

Just before you reach the giant Bullet Bill, you will see a pipe that is covered in blocks. Use the Bob-ombs to blow up the blocks and then access the pipe to reach the red flag secret exit.

Warp from World 5 to World 8

Enter the World 5 Ghost House and get a Mushroom from the blocks. Then, go up the stairs untill you get to a place with three brick blocks on the left side of the screen. Stand on top of them and jump to reveal three invisible blocks. Next, wall jump on the left side to get on top of them. Stand on the middle raised block and duck, then jump to reveal a block with a vine in it. Climb up the vine and a Boxing Ghost will appear. Jump off the vine to avoid taking damage from it. Kill it and climb back up, and enter the door. Kill the two Walking Pumpkins and stand in the middle. The platform will wobble and as long as you stay in the center you should be fine. When it reaches the top, exit and jump on the flag pole. A path will open to the Warp Cannon on the World Map. Enter and use the Cannon to get to World 8.

I have the Action Replay Code Manager and the Cheat code editor. I made a new cheat list from the code manager and imported the XML file from Cheat code editor. I saved it as usrcheat.dat. When i switched on my DS, i saw that the cheats had come only for some games. The key is to locate the system first. After locating the system it should be clear what games the store has available that work with that system. After locating the appropriate games section for the game system you are purchasing for, take a look at the rating indicated on the game's cover (if the site offers a detailed enough picture) or in the information box. Alternatively you can go look up the ratings on the games official site. Find the official site by googling the title of the game. The ESRB gives each game a rating in an effort to allow parents to control what their children are exposed to when playing video games. Here's a reference for the abbreviations:

C = Appropriate for Early childhood
E = Appropriate for Everyone
E 10+ = Appropriate for Everyone aged 10 and older
T = Appropriate for Teens
M = Appropriate for Mature Adults

The majority of the time, illustrations on the covers and ads of the games you are purchasing do a wonderful job of exposing what the game is about. So if you see an illustration of a man holding a gun, chances are, there is gore and violence in that game--you might not want that

for your child. I'd recommend making a selection based on the latest childrens and action/adventure movie releases. Kids love the new animated movies definitely enjoy re-living the best scenes from the movie, in the video game. If you can't find a game that's built from a movie that the child likes, try to find a game that centers around a popular animated or action program, or one that can be considered educational. If you still can't find one, point your browser to the nearest Blockbuster or Hollywood Video website. Usually they have a list of the latest releases. Use that list to compile your own list of games you would purchase for your kid(s). Then go back to the website that you intended to buy from and enter the games on your list into their search bar. If, on the other hand, you did find a game, you can purchase it at the given website.

While the Sony PSP handheld video game portable console dominates in America, the Nintendo DS still reigns supreme in Japan, which is home to both companies.

Media Create, which is an analyst firm in Japan, shows that Nintendo held 9 out of the 10 top spots in software sales. Looking at some of the top selling titles can really open one's eyes to the types of games that hold popular in Japan: Animal Crossing 2, Super Mario Strikers, the Brain Training franchise, and Mario Kart DS are notable.

During the week time frame that was analyzed, the DS was #1 in system sales at 64,515 consoles, while the PSP had 38,271. This is a drastic difference, but not near as drastic as the American XBox console - a home-based system - which struggles in Japan, this period selling only 3,616.

The reasons for this vary, but it is clear that the customer attraction is greatly different in the two cultures. The DS has a simpler, "cuter" first impression, while the PSP comes across as being sleek, and powerful. Obviously the systems have their pros and cons, but because of consumer preference, each console does better in different regions. The Japanese apparently are not too attracted to the ultra-violent and unrecognizable games of the 360 that are extremely popular in America, and a younger customer would probably prefer the DS to the PSP, with the colorful trends of Japan to guide them. The DS has a wide variety of recognizable Japanese character special editions as well.

The Wi-Fi connection undoubtedly holds the most sway with the 2 systems, with the DS having a very unique and easy to use Wi-Fi system, along with a chat program right out of the box. This coupled with the touch screen capability means that chats are interesting and colorful - perfect for younger audiences.

These trends show that although Nintendo may not be the hardcore gamer's brand of choice here in the States, it is definitely still going strong in Japan, and will most likely continue to do so, with deep-rooted franchises and brand recognition.

Fallout 3 has been released for almost a month now and having just finished the game last night I thought I would write my thoughts about this game instead of an actual review. Oh by the way I actually finished the game a little too fast, I still have tons of unexplored places and quests to check out I just didn't expect to end so fast. Still, I would say I have spent more than 20 hours by going through some of the sub quests along the way.

Developed by Bethesda Game Studios, Fallout 3 is really similar to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion except this time the story takes place in a post-apocalyptic United States in the year 2277 instead of in the medieval time. So you will be fighting your way through using guns most of the time and occasionally melee weapons like swords, sledgehammer and baseball bats. Graphicwise, while Oblivion looked amazing I think its safe to say that Fallout 3 looks even better because I can really feel I'm in a post-apocalyptic world with almost everything in rubbles, ashes and more than 50% of the time you will be exploring underground places. I don't see why it shouldn't be anyway given one was released more than 2 years ago.

Let's forget about the graphics for a second, I still prefer Fallout 3 over Oblivion because of the time period the story takes place. I much prefer modern to future than going back in time and also prefer guns over magic. So if you don't have these preferences and you have played Oblivion before then its pretty safe to say you will like Fallout 3 for sure. What I also like about Fallout 3 is the fact that there's a VAT System which allows you to aim at specific body parts, it also tells you the percentage of success. At first when I saw the trailers demonstrating this system I thought it was going to be an overpowered feature. I can assure you its not because using the system will drain your AP (Action Points) so you can't really use it again and again over a short period of time without replenishing your AP by using AP healing items. Normally you will have to wait for AP to naturally replenish itself. It might be a bit of an overpowered feature if you are playing on very easy to easy mode. When you are playing in harder difficulties you will need this feature when fighting against multiple enemies.

So I guess my point really boils down to whether you are into this time period or not, provided you played and actually liked Oblivion. Fallout 3 is a must for you if you liked it and either have no preference or are into modern-future time period and/or you prefer guns over magic.

I hope this little article will help you in deciding whether to get this game or not. And I always wonder if there will be a MMO version of either Oblivion or Fallout in the future.

Forza Motorsport 2 Free Download

Forza Motorsport 2 is a racing game developed by Turn 10 Studios and published by Microsoft Game Studios. The game is available for Xbox 360 exclusively. It is the sequel to the Forza Motorsport marking the expansion of the Forza Motorsport racing games franchise. Forza Motorsport 2 was released on 24 May, 2007 in Japan; 29 May, 2007 in North America; 8 June, 2007 in Europe and 14 June, 2007 in Australia. Forza Motorsport 2 is available in single player mode as well as multiplayer mode. You can play either online multiplayer or through system-link.

Forza Motorsport 2 features over 300 cars divided into six production classes and four race classes. Graphics and aerodynamics of the cars can be visually customizable. Forza Motorsport 2 runs at the speed of 60 frames per second while replays at 30 frames per second. No point to point race is featured in this version of the series. The game focuses on circuit race only. The physique is refurbished from the Forza Motorsport. There are multiple settings possible in the Forza Motorsport 2 now. “Simulation” the severest, takes car out of commission, “limited” limits the relentless crashes and damages, and “cosmetic” means damages are not visible.

Forza Motorsport 2 features 14 playable tracks out of which 10 are real-world tracks and remaining four are fictional tracks. The scoring system of the game is similar to that of Halo 2. Cars can be auctioned online in Forza Motorsport 2 and purchased cars come with all the new and old stats. Players need to logon to the official website to check for the scores. Game allows players to take in-game photos and upload them to the forza website. Players can also schedule tournaments in Forza Motorsport 2. Microsoft has developed Xbox 360 Wireless racing wheel that works in conjunction with the game.

Lot of free downloadable content is available for Forza Motorsport 2. Players can download free cars and tracks along with the paid one. There is also one limited collector’s edition released. Forza Motorsport 2 limited collector’s edition contains 157 pages booklet giving the details about the cars and how to obtain the game achievements. Of all hit comic books, television shows and movies there is none more suited for adaptation as a video game than the Star Trek series. With its well developed characters, a very realistic sci-fi setting and millions and billions of starry eyed fans it's no wonder that copies just seem to disappear of the shelves the second any Start Trek games hits the market. The first Star Trek Episode was aired in the year 1966 and stayed right on top of the charts for more than three years. By the time the last episode of the original Star Trek was aired in 1969, this futuristic concept screamed of being developed for a more interactive medium - namely video games, where fans could participate directly in the revolution.

The first Star Trek Game was created by an unknown team of coders in 1975. For those who were fond of combat aspect of Star Trek, the game proved to be really addictive and was surprisingly quite advanced for the time it was made. The basic plot of game was short and to the point. For reasons not mention the peace treaty between the Klingon Empire and the Federation has collapsed, and you as the commander of the USS Enterprise, have to use all your resources, to destroy the Klingon Armada, which they have sent to into the Federation territory. It hardly needs to be mentioned that the interface was wholly text based you had to type in your instructions and the results of your decisions were typed back to you.

Once personal computers became commonplace, a number of games were Star Trek based games were created. But gamers got their first real dose of the Star Trek Series with the release of Star Trek: 25th Anniversary. Developed by Interplay the game was a graphical adventure that set really high standards for all future Star Trek games. Like each Star Trek Episode is a self contained drama, the game too had a number of mini-missions, which the player was supposed to complete. After the end of each mission the player got an evaluation report that analyzed his overall performance.

Another great game was Star Trek: Klingon, which was hailed by the critics as the "ultimate interactive adventure". In the game the player takes up the Persona of Pok, a young Klingonian who has to avenge the death of his father. Its one of the most interesting Star Trek games you will ever come across.

Another Star Trek Game which followed a similar plot structure was Star Trek: Borg. In this game you play the role of a Starfleet recruit, who is sent back in time by Q, to save the life of his father who was killed by Borg. A fast passed adventure game, Star Trek: Borg is all about making split second decisions.

The other interesting Star Trek titles that you should definitely play are Star Trek: Armada and Star Trek: Voyager - Elite Force. Both of them have been created by Raven Software, so you can be sure that you won't be disappointed.
