How to Mod a Nintendo DS with an R4 Flashcart
Your Nintendo DS can do a lot of things out of the box. It can play DS games, as well as GameBoy Advance (GBA) games. It can download demos from download stations at places like Best Buy, and you can chat with friends in the same room. But, it can also play music, videos, display text files, and much more!
1. Acquire the R4DS (Revolution For DS) flashcart from an online retailer. They are not sold in stores, but they are not illegal as sold. You can find them on Amazon Marketplace and DealExtreme. Google should turn up others.
2. Download the latest firmware for the R4. At the time of this writing, the latest version is 1.18. The R4 may not ship with the latest firmware. See below for the proper link.
3. Connect the Transflash/microSD card to your computer. The R4 comes with a microSD to USB adapter which is very nice. If you have a memory card reader, use the SD adapter that comes with most microSD cards. In a pinch, put the memory card in a compatible phone and connect the phone to the computer.
4. Open the firmware file, should be Language-Version.zip. Unpack the contents of this archive to the root directory of your microSD card.
5. Verify that you have done everything right. That should be all it takes. Remove whatever game may be in your DS' Slot-1, insert the R4, and insert the microSD card into the R4. There is only one way it can go, and it will most likely be the way you don't expect. It does not matter in what order you do this - you could also put the microSD card into the R4 and then put the R4 in the DS. (A clever individual can remove the microSD card from the R4 while the R4 is in the DS, but it's a tight area.)
6. Turn the DS on. You should get the safety warning, but before you get a chance to touch the screen to confirm, the R4 should take over. The default DS menu, if it was enabled (it is by default), will be bypassed, and the R4 menu will load. You will get three choices. The first one, Game, will allow you to load a .NDS file (a DS ROM, or a homebrew application - .NDS is to your DS what .EXE is to your Windows computer). The second one, Media, will allow you to play multimedia - music, video, text - using the Moonshell OS. The third one, Slot-2, will allow you to boot a Slot-2 (Game Boy Advance) game.
7. Get some good homebrew and DS games! The most recommended DS download site is PocketDownloadCenter

Disney Cars Game
The Disney Cars game developed after the movie of the same name lets you race all those lovable characters in their own environment. You can race as your favorite character through Ornament Valley, Radiator springs or Tailfin Pass. The developers of Cars the movie games have made sure that you can enjoy racing your favorite characters on any kind of player. The Disney Cars game can be played on OS X, Microsoft Windows systems, Apple Mac, PSP, PS2, Xbox 360, Xbox, Nintendo DS, Wii, Nintendo GameCube and many more.

The more lightning bolts you collect, the closer you are to unlocking the bonus content of the Disney Cars game. Also, you earn extra points if you perform power slides or if you drive safely while playing cars the movie games.
The characters that you can race as differ from the version of the Disney Cars game that you are playing. For instance, in the PS2, Nintendo and GameCube versions you can only play certain characters like Mater, Luigi, Wingo, Sally Carrera and Sheriff. In the PSP version, in addition to the characters mentioned above, you can play Lightning McQueen, Doc Hudson, Ramone, Lizzie, Sarge and many more. The race cars that you can drive in the Nintendo DS version include Leakless, Vinyl Toupee and Gasprin.

The video game industry has become much different from the one we were familiar with as kids as we grew up playing our Nintendo Entertainment Systems, Super Nintendos, Sega Genesis, etc. The game industry is thriving like never seen before, and is now a multi-BILLION dollar industry. No longer is it predominantly children and teenagers that compose the majority of the consumers for the industry as grown adults and even senior citizens get involved in gaming nowadays thanks to the presence of Nintendo's DS and Wii systems and their casual gamer friendly atmosphere.
As the industry grows so does the demand for employees at publisher and developer headquarters, of course. In fact, demand is higher than you could ever imagine. One position that is highly needed is game testers. Video game testers basically play a title hours on end running through it with a fine tooth comb to make sure there are no bugs or errors present in the game's design. It's a highly desirable job, and the pay is surprisingly very, very good at times. Hard to believe people get paid to test games, right? Even more so that they're getting paid handsomely to do so. But believe it, because this is big business nowadays and I'm sure all of the fine men and women who paid for and fueled their children's ability to play games as they were growing up buying console after console will be glad to see all of their hard earned money ended up being quite useful in the end, helping their children prepare for a great career in the end.
Many companies are currently hiring game testers, in fact. EA, Rockstar, THQ, Blizzard, and even Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft are all constantly looking to build to their testing teams. The best part? You don't even have to know someone to get involved with the industry anymore! There are tons of guides and books that can show you how to become a video game tester out there and give you all of the contact information you need to be getting in touch with these companies ASAP and help you start playing video games for money quick! And they can be had at a very reasonable price. So what are you waiting for? Kiss your nine to fiver goodbye and start doing what you love for a living, people!

Becoming a video game tester sounds fun, doesn't it? Those that play and test games know that it's an excellent job or a great career choice. It's unfortunate that a lot of gamers think or somehow believe being paid to do this simply cannot happen. Just the opposite, there are many people that play games, just like us, doing this type of work as a full blown career with benefits.
Having a career as a video game tester can be really fun, but it's important to note that this is also a real job, with real money making opportunities. It may not be for everyone, but that's obviously up to each individual. At first glance, being a tester may sound like it's "all fun and games", which it can be, but it also requires more than just playing a game.
Some examples might be having to play the same levels many times over just to identify all the different bugs that are presented within the game. So there is "work" involved. That being said, the majority of people that are in this business do tend to be very happy with their jobs. Of course, they do get to play the hottest games on the market in addition to see what the future holds for the industry - in some cases, days, months, or even years before the general public does.
Many known designers, programmers, etc, in the industry actually started as a video game tester before getting the position that they have today. So it's also an excellent way for people to get their foot in the door for those interested in becoming a game designer, programmer, etc. Contacts are everything, so meeting the right people is very important, thus becoming a video game tester being a great way to do that.
